Welcome to the Gun Show is an independently produced television programme, run and funded by a huge team of volunteers. The show is dedicated to giving an authentic and real voice to the nation’s young guns – musicians, film makers, photographers, actors, designers
We believe that if what they are doing is important to them, then it’s important to us that we can give them the capability to share it with their peers by providing broadcast space and the opportunity to showcase their talents to a wider audience.
The talent that we have discovered on the show has been immense. After our first year of broadcasting, we had already showcased over 100 bands by giving them live to air studio interviews as well as playing music videos of their songs that we have filmed for them.
We also give several young people that we have met during the making of the show training as presenters, directors and stage managers through an apprenticeship like system, and offer those studying the performing and screen arts work experience in camera, sound and editing.
Welcome to the Gun Show was conceived by Johnathon Leyland last year in his final year at Lynfield College, and has gained a cult following within the underground music scene as well as in high schools colleges and universities.
